With the announcement that Minecraft on the SWITCH will need an Xbox live account and nintendo being up for crossplay with Microsoft. Does that mean that we could see the N64 classics back on a Nintendo console?

Personally I hope so, as the last game from Rare to grace a Nintendo console was Viva Pinata pocket paradise for the DS. Very was even talks and remade Goldeneye for XBLA but Nintendo shuttered it over copyright. I have dug a youtube video by Rarethief that looks authentic but with Microsoft being less than forth coming about it's existence it's hard to say either way.

Why would Microsoft allow Nintendo to have the rights to Rare's Nintendo 64 classics? Obvious answer is money. They know Rareware's classic game games reputation is very good other wise they would have never made Rare replay. Especially with the amount of space that used up on the xbox one console. Second but less obvious is to get a foothold in the mobile market again. But as an operating system and not hardware. I am one of the few people that actually preferred windows phone to Android and especially iOS. It is more intuitive and was better for gaming. I have final fantasy and earthworm jim on my phone and play both regularly. This is piggy backing on to a market Nintendo has the monopoly. So releasing their top classics on another system to which they would make money on every sale. I think so.
But would Nintendo allow it? Past experience has shown Nintendo to be cagey to work with third parties. look at the Playstation debacle. Also if we look at Rare games that are based on Nintendo characters this might give us a better insight. Diddy Kong Racing had two characters cut for the DS release these being Banjo and Conker, stars of the best platformers on Nintendo 64 and Microsoft treatment of characters has been atrocious (nuts and bolts!). Yet Donkey Kong country has been released on the Nintendo shop and upcoming SNES classic relatively untouched.
It's hard to say whether or not Microsoft and Nintendo will work together to allow games be on both consoles or they limit library's of the other console. But I hope the classic Rare games get put on the Switch via XBLA.
