Best Way to Beat Traffic Home on a Monday

Burnout is one amazing game, a fast paced arcade racing game.

Straight up a great game. With difficulty based on your skill rather Burnout relying on rubber banding to beat you.

There is only a few a cars to begin with, these double as the difficulty setting too. With the supermini being the easy setting and the muscle car being the hardest difficulty.

Unlike mordern games hard means hard.

The graphics are awesome, just look how shiny and smooth Burnout looks. For a game made back in november 2001.

The tracks are long and full of traffic ready to impede your race and throw you back in to last place. In any other game this would be infuriating. But burnout made this a feature as your crashes get replayed in slow motion.

The Music is poor though unfortunately. Sounding like stock audio for some cheesy 90's ad. At least the sound effects are meaty and the crashes are bone crunching. Burnout is one of the few games that I choose the sound effects over the music.

All in all Burnout is proper old fashioned arcade racing game that focuses on fun rather than all the bells and whistles of modern racers. Worth playing if you either a gamecube, xbox or playstation 2.
